Duncan McKnight is a recording artist and multi-instrumentalist influenced by psychedelic rock, old country and 1960s garage. Born in Bakersfield, California, he began writing and recording music from an early age. In his teenage years, he formed a band and began playing shows along the the west coast of USA, creating a following.
When on tour with his Berlin based band, McKnight fell from a window of a building in Reykjavik, Iceland on May 1st, 2009. He suffered extensive injuries including damage to the cerebellum and other internal organs. During a nine month hospital stay in Iceland, he had to learn how to walk, talk, and play music again. Icelandic artist Nonni DEAD helped him through the existential aspect of his recovery – as well as the concept: “He Who Fears Death Cannot Enjoy Life” had a profound impact.
After a decade, he has made a full recovery and continues to record music and play live. He has since collaborated with and opened for The Allah-Las, Singapore Sling, Dead Skeletons, The Soft Moon, and others. All new releases can be found on False Apostle Records.
