Duncan McKnight is a recording artist and multi-instrumentalist influenced by psychedelic rock, shoegaze and 1960s garage. Born in Bakersfield, California, began writing and recording music from a young age. Things came to a crashing halt when, at the age of 20, McKnight fell from a window of a building in Reykjavik, Iceland. He suffered extensive injuries including damage to the cerebellum and other internal organs. During a nine month hospital stay in Iceland, he regained the ability to walk, talk, and play music again. Icelandic artist Nonni DEAD helped him through the existential aspect of his recovery – as well as the concept: “He Who Fears Death Cannot Enjoy Life” had a profound impact.
A decade has passed and McKnight has since opened for or collaborated with The Allah la’s, Singapore Sling, Dead Skeletons, The Soft Moon, and more. He lives in Austin, Texas, and continues to play live with local musicians and release music through False Apostle Records.
